How to accurately measure your foot to find your On Running size?
The best method? Measure the exact length of your foot in centimeters. This is the most reliable value for choosing your running shoes.
Steps to measure correctly:
- Get ready: Measure at the end of the afternoon while wearing your usual running socks. Your feet tend to swell slightly during exercise.
- Place a white sheet of paper on a flat floor: Stand with your heel flat against a wall and place your foot on the sheet.
- Stand up straight: Keep your posture straight and distribute your weight evenly on both feet.
- Mark the highest point: Have someone help you or draw a mark yourself in front of your longest toe (the big toe or the second toe).
- Measure the distance: Using a ruler, measure the distance from the edge of the sheet (wall side) to the mark you made. Note the result in centimeters.
- Do the same for the other foot: If one foot is larger than the other, use the larger measurement.
Montaz Tip: On Running shoes generally have a quite tailored fit. For running, **it is highly recommended to choose a half-size (or even a full size) larger** than your usual lifestyle shoe size. Your foot slides forward with every stride, especially when running downhill, and needs this safety margin of about 0.5 to 1 cm to avoid black toenails!
